Raye Hendrix

Raye Hendrix is a writer and scholar from Alabama. She holds degrees from Auburn University and earned her MFA from the University of Texas at Austin's New Writers Project, where she won the Michael Adams Thesis Prize in Poetry and served as the Web Editor for Bat City Review. Raye is the winner of the 2019 Keene Prize for Literature and Southern Indiana Review’s 2018 Patricia Aakhus Award. Her work has been featured on Poetry Daily and in 32 Poems, Shenandoah, Cimarron Review, Poetry Northwest, Zone 3, and elsewhere. Raye is a PhD student at the University of Oregon studying Deafness, Disability, and Poetics with a specialization in Deaf American Poetry. You can find more of her work at rayehendrix [dot] com.
