NightDrake reviewed Second life by S. J. Watson

Second life is the story of Julia. She's relatively happily married, but on one faitful day, her sister Kate is murdered. She's not all that sure what to do, so she decides that she's going to find her killer online. She then starts talking with Lucas, and the obvious occurs. This is the story of you don't really know who you're talking to online. It is rather suspenseful, and while I liked the book well enough, I sort of found it to be predictable. It didn't have the, "Oh, my God, I wasn't expecting this," thist that Before I Go to Sleep had. Not until the very end, at least. I thought i'd had an idea of who did what, but again, S. J. Watson surprised me.

There were times when I liked and disliked both Julia, and Lucas, so the author did well with that. He also did well with the suspense aspect of the book, though the book did start out rather slow. I was glad I read it, and like S. J. is so good at doing, makes me second guess who I'm really talking with online.
