Empire of the Summer Moon

There are obvious biases involved, but this is a pretty interesting introduction to Indian/White relations in Texas in the 1800s. I was disappointed there was not a lot of attempt to understand Comanche culture (or use Comanche sources beyond kidnapped whites). We get the odd description of how the Comanche loved their way of life, but little deep understanding of what that culture was like.
