I skimmed a lot of paragraphs because I just didn't care. I still don't know what Ikigai actually is, probably something like "your personal meaning of life".
The book overall is more of an introduction into certain (niche) parts of Japanese culture. Little glimpses into people's lives and their individual "purpose", for example sushi master chefs and sumo wrestlers.

I finished the book feeling kind of clueless to be honest. I don't have a better understanding of Japanese culture in general and the concept of Ikigai in particular.
