Stumptown is a noir detective comic written by Greg Rucka and illustrated by Matthew Southworth. Dex Parios is a tough private eye in Portland whose career success resembles Jim Rockford's. The Case of the Girl Who Took her Shampoo (But Left her Mini) is a big, gorgeous hardback book the collects the several comics that make up that story.[return][return]It's got the whole PI thing going on, and is a fun read. The artwork is gorgeous and pure Portland. You recognize buildings, streets and landscape everywhere. The only un-Portland thing is that Dex drives places downtown and finds convenient on-street parking from which she can do surveillance. Yeah, sure.
