A risk worth taking

Married life has not turned out as Dan expected. Rather than providing for his family while his wife made a home, he has become a house-husband as Jackie's "little job" turned into an executive position. Approaching 50, he has a new brainwave involving a move to Scotland. The family is not amused.

With a high-flying job in the City, a strong marriage to the beautiful Jackie, and three wonderful children, Dan Porter thought he had his life sorted. But when his struggling new firm operates a 'last in, first out' policy, Dan finds himself made redundant for the first time in his life. Fourteen months on, he is still without a job and the strain is beginning to tell on his marriage. Then he sees an article in a magazine about a small mail-order company, based in the west of Scotland, that is up for sale. With Jackie abroad on yet another business trip, Dan decides to head north on the overnight sleeper. It is a trip that is about to change his life...
