Eli reviewed Growing Things and Other Stories by Paul Tremblay

I tried, I really did try to like Tremblay's fiction but to me it is lacking.
I do like short stories and a great many did this book hold. However I do not like the open endings or lack of context. I know it is deliberate and the whole idea of it is the process towards apocalypse not the exact reason or manner, but that is why I am not quite keen on this author. I was also slightly confused with some recurring characters that I did not realise were recurring until the end comments. I just thought they were similarly named. So all in all, I think it leaves too much for the imagination for my liking, but the ideas were good nonetheless.
