Read for discussion at 4MA. A man with an empty life fills it by becoming obsessed with a lonely woman who commits suicide. Nobody knows who she is or why she died, and finding out turns this man in a gray flannel suit into a western hero. Reminiscent of his Wasteland of Strangers - more fable than mystery.
