Another Scandinavian whodunit. It took me a while to get into it, but it seemed to improve as it went on. It concerns the murder of an Afghan refugee who is a football referee. It has political ramifications, and I suppose some Americans may regard it as anti-American. But it could equally well be considered anti-Taliban.
The main characters are a relatively junior police officer who is taken of the case for questioning the guilt of the first suspect arrested, and and a psychologist fighting his own demons of addiction (what's new? having such a character in whodunits seems to be obligatory nowadays).
