Read for 4MA discussion. A fascinating portrait of a very dysfunctional family as viewed from the perspective of a down-to-earth Swedish nurse brought in to care for the 'mad' brother who, it turns out, is autistic. Very scathing portrait of small-minded middle class values in the south of England in the mid 20th-century.
