1 &4 are a poignant, asymmetric love story. Definitely read the author's notes at the end.

2 & 3 are an intricate world building built around lessons of the nature of life and divinity.

Thematically, the two are actually pretty similar. Kim Bo-Young's stories are intricate and compelling, full of philosophy and love. I really enjoyed this, and will look for other books by the author.

The Consciousnesses, unable/unwilling to merge back into One, communicating only in the limited ways of differentiated selves, grew …
