Also nicht ganz. Also weitergelesen.

A new millionaire walks into a bar...

As always, Stephen King is absolutely masterful with his writing. Characters are phenomenal and believable. King is able to present a evil but this time, the evil is not supernatural and ever so present. Great read and I loved how he tied it to current events and made everyone so human. I am excited to read his previous mystery books related to Holly Gibney and her former mentor!! Great story and I was invested in finding out what happens!

Oh and the narration by Justine Lupe is top notch! One of best narrations I have heard!

I gave this an extra star for how butt-hurt it made the maga losers. I hope everyone of those people raging about this book bought a copy rather than read it at the library. Stephen King is old and rich enough to alienate a good chunk of his audience and I hope it was as satisfying as I imagine it to be. I'm not a shitter user, but even I know he posts all the time and his views should not have been a secret. The only people who complain about politics being injected into everything are people who are aggressively shitty overall and try to mask their abhorrent views as "just political views".

With all that being said, he does mention covid a lot. A lot, a lot.

Third book in the series focussing on Holly solving a missing person's case. And getting in deeper than she anticipated surely. An interesting inclusion of some pretty out there opinions and beliefs, which tie in nicely with the current world out there. I'm not usually very keen on crime thrillers, and generally enjoyed the curious nature of Holly in making the clues make sense, by leaving possibility a chance rather than disregarding altogether.
It was definitely engaging and I did not feel I missed out despite not remembering much of the previous 2 books in this series.
