An amazing piece of satire highlighting the arbitrariness of class, the inevitability of apathy and loneliness in an increasingly disconnected society, and the futility of man's pursuit to civilize the animal out of himself.
Summary: Uninteresting people act petty and crappy... on a large scale.
If I want to read about people becoming savages, I'll read Lord of the Flies. Social structures developing in isolation? Hugh Howey's Silo series. White collar psychotics? American Psycho.
I suppose this book just wasn't for me. It did have some memorable imagery, but that came up a bit short when I had so little interest in the characters or story.
