It may simply be that the accent used for this audiobook caused me to not and enjoy it as well as I could have. Whereas I had often been under the impression that the reader should put as much real and official-ness as possible into a performance of the book, I found than trying to follow him, the narrator, took far more effort than the book merited! I found myself reading the 1st part of it, the 1st two thirds, 2 or 3 times in order to follow the story and get a feel for it. Sigh.
I am entering a full review here partly because I am probably not going to be able to make the book club meeting Monday :-(.
