Marsha Woerner reviewed A Time to Kill by John Grisham
Review of 'A Time to Kill' on 'Goodreads'
4 stars
I really never read a Grisham novel before, but I came into a set of unabridged audiobooks. This is the first. It had interesting storyline and thesis! It was staged in Mississippi, and I don't think the timeframe was before the 80s. It paints a picture of racial instability and prejudice even at that late date. There was enough suspense to keep the interest level up, and there really was a true mystery as to what the ending would be.
I enjoyed the book, and I don't know why I had avoided John Grisham books in the past – maybe because there was way too much of a hype about them (I usually avoid movies and books with too big of a hype. They almost never live up to it! Fortunately, the hype on John Grisham books has pretty much died down)
I am interested in what future books will …
