I was holding a grudge against vampire books for the longest time, because I had all kinds of stereotypes about "vampire hunters" and cozy mysteries about vampires, and really about giggly non-vampire relevant situations.
I like this book, though; it is about vampires, but the story doesn't just INCLUDE the idea of vampires, but it has a real plot that actually USES supposed skills OF vampires. The main characters are likable, and relatable, and the reader actually feels the discomfort of individual characters in the situation, and conclusions are NOT OBVIOUS from the get-go.
As most of my readers probably know from the start, I am generally a mystery lover with some science and history thrown in, but I do go into fantasy, sometimes, and I really enjoyed this book!
