Light comedy narration of a precocious boy who seems to always be in trouble with his parents and teachers. Amusing antidotes highlight his misunderstandings of adults and their world. Kind of a modern German Tom Sawyer. Later he goes on a trip to London to improve his English. Eventually he gets married and reflects on how he is going to raise his boy. All this takes place in Weimar Germany as Hitler is trying to come to power.
