One day, Kevin Matchstick meets a wizard named Mirth on the street and discovers that he is a powerful being locked in an eternal battle between the darkness and the light. Aided by Mirth and others who seem to know who Kevin really is, Kevin must find the Fisher King before the Umbra Sprite locates him and kills him in a victory for the darkness.
