The desire to read crap SF now and again. Sub - Aliens, and includes delirious phrases like ‘she was barely into her mid-twenties, but her eyes were much older’. Now, we’re allegedly reading SF here, where it is possible that her eyes literally were older than the rest of her, like they’d been transplanted from someone else. But nooo, he means it metaphorically, the brute. Never mind, it’s probably been in Thog’s Masterclass already. What has happened to this guy, I want to ask! Simon Green used to be capable of turning out modest and amusing works of Fantasy. At least when authors like Newman and Watson turn themselves to hackwork they subvert the result a bit; all Green subverts is his own brain, by apparently turning it off.
