Games People Play (1964) explores the fascinating and bizarre world of psychological games, where players unconsciously manipulate each other into acting in alienating and self-destructive ways.

Review of 'Games People Play: The Psychology of Human Relationships' on 'Goodreads'

4 stars

The book is divided into 2 major sections:

it begins with basic theory about transactional analysis (part which I found very very insightful and easy to read);
it continues with the transactional analysis of common day-to-day (manipulative) behaviors. While this part is also interesting, I found it less valuable for myself because of a higher degree of formalization (seems to be aimed at practitioners). It's still quite understandable, but I decided to skip it since I don't really care about that.
