Review of 'I Bring the Fire : Part I' on 'Goodreads'

An okay way to pass the time, but nothing terribly exciting. I was expecting it to be funnier than it was, too. Instead, I only found it mildly amusing. I'm rather surprised by all the five star ratings, especially considering the ending. Technically, this is a "free" book, but you have to buy the next installment or you don't get much of an ending.

The present tense is annoying and the characters aren't terribly interesting. I appreciate the different take on Norse mythology, but I just couldn't get into this one. It IS well written, but it's just missing the spark that makes fantasy writers like Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, and C J Cherryh fun to read.
