Do I trust this book 100% regarding its facts and claims? No, I do not. However, it does not take a rocket scientist to see that sugar is not good for one's health. In no measure. It can add to quality of life, but it definitely does not improve anyone's health, life expectancy or immune system. No, it just makes food addictive and by that increases the likelihood of weight gain leading to obesity and metabolic syndrome and all associated health issues.
This book delves more into the difference of sources of sugar, how glucose and fructose are metabolised differently in the body. And looks at the importance of fibre, how much we should have it and what it does to the body. This discussion includes the difference between a calorie and a calorie - what your body makes of the source of energy and what can cause more problems …
