My mother is also an eccentric religious woman. But I’m struggling with my childhood trauma; McBride’s tribute just triggers me I guess. I don’t see why he admires her.

Readable and interesting, but I am not wild about it. I think I might have liked it better if the mother wrote it instead of her son.
