SO enjoyed this new setting for the Greek classic. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Fabulous meditations on country (hence the title!) and how to define yourself in a world devoid of meaning.
Agree with another reviewer that Homer's classic pre-saged nihilism by several centuries. As Picasso said when we saw the paintings in Lascaux: We have invented nothing new.
The ways in which the author imports ideas from the Illiad are playful and entertaining. A vandalized sign, a helicopter, and a secretary named Iris were very fun.
