I started this book as I was getting into bed, and ended up staying up until almost 2 am reading! It hooks you from the beginning and you can't wait to know what happens.
The love between Elena and Jean-Paul seems to come out of nowhere a bit, they don't have very many conversations before they both start to feel like they're falling in love.
To be honest when we first meet Jean-Paul, I thought he was a much older man, closer to Grand-Mere's age. But I figured it out soon enough!
Once they do fall in love though it sort of makes sense why it didn't take much, they fit together so well, you can tell they were made for each other, and their romance is very sweet.

I found the elements of Elena and Jean-Paul finding each other, and Elena finding Yvette and Sidra, and the actual conflict of the book to be very well balanced. I also found the book to be very well paced.
4.5/5 because I wish there was at least one or two more scenes of conversations between Elena and Jean-Paul while falling in love.
Altogether very happy with this book!
