Review of 'JK Haru Is a Sex Worker in Another World' on 'Storygraph'

Most of this book digs into the side characters instead of the world's main conflict with the Demon Lord, but this is still a treat since the character writing is incredible. As dark as the world of JK Haru is, it’s incredibly cathartic to see the women in the story find strength in each other and slowly find their own way to rise above the misogyny baked into the landscape. Even through somewhat disconnected stories, it’s clear that the novel is trying to say something about the nature of power fantasy isekai, and builds something really unique out of that commentary. I’m going to be thinking about this series for a while.
