Kamui was taken away from Tokyo as a child by his mother, leaving behind his closest friends, Kotari and her brother Fuma, shortly after their mother died in a terrible incident. After his own mother's death, Kamui returns to Tokyo, but remains distant from his old friends, although he is determined to protect them from the dark forces that surround him.
