Qué maravilla de novela, muchísimo más lograda que las tres de Galdós que llevo leídas este año. Descripciones llenas de retranca que pintan un fresco completísimo de la España de inicios de la Restauración; personajes inolvidables, fantásticamente construidos y una estructura narrativa que se adapta perfectamente a la trama: obra maestra.
A falta de leer el segundo tomo: qué maravilla. Una prosa ágil, muy divertida, que se puede leer a muchos niveles: la España de la Restauración, la comedia humana, la cutre historia pasional a lo Mme. Bovary... Una novela que ha envejecido muy bien.
