Found where I went wrong. Good one. Probably the only book of Gaiman that I loved. :)

"Drawn from Gaiman's trove of published speeches, poems, and creative manifestos, Art Matters is an embodiment of this remarkable multi-media artist's vision--an exploration of how reading, imagining, and creating can transform the world and our lives"--
Found where I went wrong. Good one. Probably the only book of Gaiman that I loved. :)
A nice, short, illustrated read of four pieces.
I had a copy of his "Make Good Art" speech, designed in a creative fashion by Chip Kidd. This book, Art Matters, would be a better choice since it includes the speech with additional content.
Another note: The speech, Credo, and the importance of libraries for our future -- without illustrations -- all exist in his non-fiction collection "The View from The Cheap Seats." So, if you've read that, this book will be familiar but with illustrations by Chris Riddell.
The only one I hadn't read before was "Making a Chair."
Could work as a gift, perhaps. I'll be gifting mine. $20 list price seemed a bit harsh for what the book contains overall.
