kmdk reviewed A hundred flowers by Gail Tsukiyama
Review of 'A hundred flowers' on 'Goodreads'
3 stars
This was a fine little book to listen to. I gave it a 3 because it was not extraordinary. I liked it, and that is a 3. I enjoy stories about China that are fiction mixed with facts. As Amazon and Wikipedia say, this is a story about one family's experiences during 5 months of 1958. It's a quiet story with no major tensions, but a few times I was eager to get back to listening to find out what happened next.
There is an interview with Gail Tsukiyama at the end of the Audible version I have. I was curious to read more about her, and I learned that her break-through book is "The Samurai's Garden". I'm going to check that out at some later point.
