I'm a sucker for epistolary novels, so I was bound to like this. Two authors voice two characters, and man and woman who meet at a wedding reception, but live in different cities. They fall into lust and are fast heading to a one-afternoon-stand when he pulls back. He suggests that they exchange letters — confessions — and reveal themselves to each before meeting again. The letters reveal, apologize, challenge, and pull back. They go over their romantic histories, analyzing how they messed up. That's not sounding very fun, is it? But it's a compelling read as they move towards each other.
