Review of 'The King Stag' on 'Goodreads'

3 stars

Book 3 and the retelling of the legend of King Arthur continues. Morgaine engineers a marriage for Lancelot to prevent his love for Gwenhwyfar from undermining King Arthur's rule. Gwenhwyfar continues to push the Christian agenda over the old druidic religions. Morgaine is married off to a king of Wales and slowly begins to regain the powers she lost on leaving Avalon. Everyone is older and more set in their ways, from Morgaine to Gwenhwyfar. Not as strong as the first book but still an interesting story. Gwenhwyfar is still so unlikable a character it's annoying to read her parts, though.
