Review of 'The Children on the Hill' on 'Goodreads'
4 stars
It tended to be slow while setting the stage for the book's latter half, but once it started going, it didn't stop picking up steam. Even when I could tell where the story was heading, I couldn't put it down, and I couldn't predict the closing acts of the novel.
The perspective shift wasn't an effective device for some portion of the story until things happened, and it became clear that it had a clear purpose.
Thank you to Goodreads and Scout Press for my copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
