Sparring Partners

Is this a new low for Grisham? Three novellas with no connecting thread and none of which build any real interest. He's used these plots before, much better, and the characters by now are cliches. I'm normally excited to read the next Grisham book, but this complete failure is giving me doubts.

Closer to a 2.5, brought down from a 3 only because of the lackluster ending.
