The subject matter is very interesting, but the book is so much harder to read than it has to be.

I think this book ended up on my reading list because of the bet between Susskind and Hawking. The bet on whether information is lost in a black hole only comes up at the end, but that is okay. The rest of the book sets up understanding it. So I think the object was achieved.
