A sweet re-imagining of The Scarlet Letter told from the point of view of "Hester Prynne". Set in three times - the main character's grandmother's, the time of the Salem Witch Trials, and the antebellum North - it winds the threads of history and day to day life together nicely. In addition, the author examines the wide array of morality in the antebellum era without being preachy or too damning. Definitely enjoyable.
