Review of 'Undermajordomo Minor' on 'Goodreads'

The Sisters Brothers was one of the best books I've read in the last few years. This follow-up doesn't quite match it, but it's still an engaging page-turner and I'll be keeping an eye out for DeWitt's future books. You spend about half the book wondering about what supernatural horror is lurking in the castle, before you realize that nothing was more horrible than unrestrained feudalism. The town's blase attitude toward the war raging about them; the repartee between the protagonist, the majordomo, and the thief; the transformations of the Baron -- these are what will stick with me.
