Rainbow Rowell has won fans all over the world by writing about love and life in a way that feels true.

In her first collection, she gives us nine beautifully crafted love stories. Girl meets boy camping outside a movie theater. Best friends debate the merits of high school dances. A prince romances a troll. A girl romances an imaginary boy. And Simon Snow himself returns for a holiday adventure.

It’s a feast of irresistible characters, hilarious dialogue, and masterful storytelling—in short, everything you’d expect from a Rainbow Rowell book.

Review of 'Scattered Showers' on 'Goodreads'

Story 1: Midnights
I used to like this story but I outgrew it by now. It's sweet and captures how life's like on your first Christmas after starting uni. 3,5 stars

Story 2: Kindred Spirits
I skipped this one because I didn't like it when I first read it. Back then I rated it 2 stars

Story 3: Winter Songs for Summer
This is not a Christmas story but that's okay because it's not marketed as such. The story itself was okay, but nothing amazing. 3 stars

Story 4: The Snow Ball
I don't know if the story was awful or if it was only the narrator who did a bad job. Whatever it was, I hated this story. The miscommunication trope just isn't for me. 1,5 stars

Story 5: If The Fates Allow
I liked it when I first read it in 2021 and I still enjoyed it now. …
