Gran novela, es necesario un tiempo para aclimatarse como el que viaja a un país con una lengua desconocida. La narración es muy descriptiva con continuas florituras que le dan una gran belleza, pero puede hacerse pesado para el lector impaciente así que tienes que estar dispuesto a perder el tiempo que está buscando Proust, lentamente, admira la vista, el olor de las flores y no mires la hora.

I saw this book in the library and thought I'd seen it on a couple of those lists of books that everyone should read, or the greatest books of the 20th century, or even the <a href="http://thegreatestbooks.org/greatest novels of all time -- so I thought I'd have a look at it. I was also reading [b:Night train to Lisbon|1528410|Night Train to Lisbon|Pascal Mercier|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1388511706l/1528410.SY75.jpg|1387510], which seemed to deserve the title In search of lost time almost as much as this one did.

But I've read enough to know that it is a strange book. It seems to break every rule of good writing and style. It has sentences that run over a full page, full of subordinate clauses, and when you get to the end …
