So, the message of the book is a solid 5-stars. Use the pronouns people identify with, try to use more gender-neutral pronouns by default. Boom, immediately more polite, good job, didn't even need to break a sweat.
I just didn't really like the tone of the comic. It came across as snarky and not really funny. It's treating a fairly serious subject with a quite a bit of levity while still swapping back to parent-talking-to-you mood every couple of pages. I'm really not sure what they were going for tone-wise.
I think the idea behind this book is a great tool - a quick, light read that you can give someone and in 15 minutes they'll know a bit more about how to be respectful. I'm not sure this book is that tool, but the message is still solid and if I had a physical copy I already know who …
