Worse than the first

This was a hate read. Not sure why I feel a need to subject myself to writing that hasn’t improved from the first book in this series, characters that are still loathsome, and a story that doesn’t make up for any of these shortcomings. I do have a completionist tendency which might be getting more severe over the years. Lord help me, I’ve already decided to read the next (please-let-it-be-the-last) book in the series.

None

The second book in this series, covering the time of libby being in a different time, stolen away by Ezra. The others meanwhile continue to work on their research to contribute to the library and thinking of how to bring her back to her own time. Naturally, her life in 1989 has an impact on the future as she engages with people around her to try and find out a way back as well, and interesting to see these characters again in the present as it were. However, it felt a bit samey and dragging as the life casually rolled on.

Review of 'Atlas Paradox' on 'Storygraph'

No rating

DNF'd at 33%. The characters in this book are miserable, broken human beings. If you were at a dinner party with them, you'd be making your excuses to leave before the appetizers. They are not sympathetic, they are insufferable. Despite hating all of them at the end of the last book, I picked up this book because I was curious where the plot would go. A third of the way through the book, I was describing it to a friend and I realized that it wasn't getting better and life is too short for books you don't love.
