As I've indicated before, I'm a sucker for books about writers and writing, so it is no surprise that this novel worked for me. I can imagine it being too slow for the average reader, but it did such a great job evoking a sense of time (both the late 90s and what it is to be recently done with college) and place (Boston and Cambridge) that I enjoyed just sinking into it. It reminded me of the years I spent writing and flitting around trying to figure out what I wanted (or could) do with my life. It was the right book at the right time for me.
