A great sequel to "The Goose Girl" - a powerful book, at times very grim.

Where "The Goose Girl" deals with a character that has the power to control the wind, "Enna Burning" explores what happens to somebody who has power over fire. Or is it fire that has power over them? This has so many facets, dealing with issues such as self control, rage and lust, guilt and the consequences of having and using power.

Enna is a fantastic character, strong and very real. She experiences the true "baptism of fire." I found some of the passages hard to read, but it is not a depressing book at all.

Also, it is ne of the few books that explores friendship between two girls without coming off sappy.
