The usual, and fairly entertaining fiendishly plotted fare. I was disappointed by the short cuts taken at times and by the character modifications that are required for the plotting to turn. The ending was disappointing to say the least. Worst of all for me was the book could have been a good 33% shorter and better without the detailed jumps back into history, some of which was pretty irrelevant to the plotting at all.
