The result is a fascinating and engaging exploration of libraries as places of beauty and wonder, a celebration of books as objects and an account of the deeply personal nature of these hallowed spaces.
There are some interesting anecdotes and tidbits here about books and libraries by the bibliophile author; but the book suffers from a scattershot writing style and no pictures to illustrate the beautiful books he describes. In the end it was mostly boring.
