A group of people are trapped in a building after an earthquake and to distract themselves from seems like inevitable doom, they start telling each other one amazing thing that's happened in their lives. And naturally, most of the amazing things are really crappy. However, Divakaruni writes sympathetically and movingly, not letting the reader get dragged down by heavy stories. Really enjoyable, even with the occasional cliche or stereotype.
