Review of 'Bet Me' on 'Storygraph'

What is it with contemporary romance novels that insist on having the most toxic relationships between mothers and daughters? I'm fine with most of the other romance tropes, but that one bugged me in this book. Min's mother harping on her CONSTANTLY about her weight...yikes. And the ex-boyfriend was so ridiculous as to be a simple caricature.

Otherwise, I mostly enjoyed this. Silly, quick read.

Review of 'Bet Me' on 'Goodreads'

This was the book that solidified for me that I hate romances based on a bet. As much as I loved Jennifer Crusie at the time, I never got past the fact that the relationship was based on a bet, and honestly, ruined my enjoyment of the book.
