Review of 'Zucked: Waking Up to the Facebook Catastrophe' on 'Goodreads'
4 stars
There are lots of good quotable areas of the book. I found myself wanting to post screenshots of quotes to social media (ironically) but got to the point where I was thinking, "At that point I'd be posting the whole book." There is even some good decomposition of the problem generally, which is beyond Facebook, and some solutions from a regulatory and personal behavior perspective. However it did need a bit more of a judicious editor. There is a lot of repetition through the various chapters. The quotability I write about waned as the book went on because the same point was being made over and over, in some cases nearly verbatim. It is still a worthy read on what ails us from an insider's perspective with respect to social media, modern big tech, etc.
