The siege of Krishnapur

At times overwritten I felt. Some of the detail was for detail's sake. Very enjoyable though and some of the scenes were classic Farrell. He had a lovely way with capturing the slightly crazy english.

There's so much to love about this book. What I didn't expect was it for be to so suspenseful and so funny! I was amazed how effortlessly the tone changed from depressing/desperate to farcical from one paragraph to another. It's so refreshing to read an unpretentious, entertaining book that's so full of memorable situations and ideas. I'm very curious to read more of Farrell.
