We watch an episode or two of Tasting History most nights and still have lots more to see. The one time I tried to make one of the dishes, I was really wishing to have the recipe in written form. Guess what! The old form of French Onion Soup is in this book!

Much of the charm of his videos lies in the histories he tells. Due to space, little of the history makes it into the book. The pictures are beautiful, and the recipes clear. It's fun to see the historic originals he bases his versions on. The book is a decent supplement to the videos.
